Joint Sessions

The Joint Session is the annual conference of The Aristotelian Society held in conjunction with The Mind Association. It is the largest and primary conference for philosophers in the UK. There is a wide subject base and international speaker profile.

Schedule

  • The 2007 Joint Session was held at the University of Bristol from 6-8 July.
  • The 2008 Joint Session will be held at the University of Aberdeen from 11-13 July.
  • The 2009 Joint Session will be held at the University of East Anglia from 10-12 July.
  • The 2010 Joint Session will be held at University College, Dublin from 9-11 July.

Speakers

The conference consists mainly of papers by invited speakers presented in symposia. Click here for this year's programme of speakers.

These are published prior to the conference in The Proceedings of the Aristotelian Society, Supplementary Volume.

Parellel Sessions

In addition there are parallel sessions devoted to submitted papers. Some Saturday afternoon sessions are set aside for the presentation of short papers by graduate students or those who have recently gained a postgraduate degree (please click here for details). Saturday and Sunday afternoons are set aside for the presentation of papers which introduce material involving recent research (please click here for details).

Subscription

No one may attend the Joint Session who is not a member of either the Aristotelian Society or the Mind Association.
