Scott Sturgeon is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Birmingham. Earlier he was Professor of Philosophy at the University of Oxford & Tutorial Fellow at Wadham College, Reader in Philosophy at Birkbeck College, London, and Lecturer in Philosophy at King’s College, London. He has been Weinberg Distinguished Visiting Professor at the University of Michigan, Inaugural Distinguished Visiting Professor at Brown University—where he delivered the Blackwell/Brown Lectures—and visiting Associate Professor at Harvard. His books are The Rational Mind and Matters of Mind, and he has authored numerous articles in epistemology, meta-ethics, metaphysics, and philosophy of mind. He has also edited the British Journal for the Philosophy of Science, Mind, Nous, and Philosophical Studies.
