Rory Madden (UCL)
Rory Madden took up his position as a permanent lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at UCL in 2008. He received his D.Phil. in Philosophy from The University of Oxford in 2007. Prior to that he completed a B.Phil. in Philosophy and a BA in Physics & Philosophy, also at Oxford. He is interested in the philosophy of mind and metaphysics. His work to date has focused on self-consciousness and personal identity.
Rory was nominated by the Council to succeed Lucy O'Brien as Honorary Director of the Aristotelian Society. His five-year tenure officially begins in July 2014. His responsibilities will include the management and oversight of the Society's general operations.
